Introduction

A few years back, I was stumbling through Twitter (now X) when one of the SEOs used an alien term—Parasite SEO. After exhaustive exploration, I discovered what this term meant.

White hat for some and grey hat for others, Parasite SEO uses the high domain authority of established websites to boost your page ranking and improve visibility.

You see, Outlook India once ranked at the top of the SERPs for every keyword from “best mushroom coffee” to “best dating sites” to “best gaming pc.” And now, you can see Reddit and Quora ruling the first page of the search engines.

While most marketers mastered the art of Parasite SEO, the real challenge for them (including me) was scaling and automating content without compromising quality.

That’s when I learnt about using Parasite AI SEO. AI-powered parasite SEO helped my team save countless hours that they’d spend creating content and finding the relevant high-authority websites.

In this blog, you’ll learn about the term Parasite AI SEO and how exactly you can leverage the AI tools to automate your parasite SEO strategy. Let’s dive in.

What is Parasite SEO?

Parasite SEO is a strategy where marketers leverage high domain-authority websites to rank their content. Instead of trying to rank on a website from scratch, they “parasite” off platforms like news sites, blogs, and social media profiles that already have high domain authority.

So, instead of setting up a website or PBNs, you can publish your content on reputable domains. The biggest advantage? You can publish your content on the news websites even if the post topic is unrelated to the site’s core focus—bypassing the need to create a topical strategy.

Understanding the use of AI in SEO

Over the last couple of years, AI has been at the forefront of every business domain. As of late 2024, 78% of organizations reported using AI in at least one business function, up from 72% in early 2024, according to a McKinsey report.

SEO is no exception. Statista study suggests that 84% of marketers use AI to align web content with search intent, while 74% of them use it to improve the SERP ranking. Marketers aren’t just sticking to one use case; they are building a comprehensive content workflow using AI—spanning from ideation to brief creation, content creation, and publishing.

The core idea behind incorporating AI in your SEO strategy is to automate the majority of mundane tasks for scalability. Similarly, AI-powered Parasite SEO strategies can help businesses scale their content production across news websites and social media platforms.

Is It Safe To Use AI for Parasite SEO Content?

Marketers’ first thought about using AI for parasite SEO must be: “Does Google penalize AI content?”

I was in the same boat when I started exploring AI for my parasite SEO workflow. The short answer is—Yes, it is safe to use AI for parasite SEO. However, it comes with certain caveats.

Low-quality content created solely using AI without structured prompts may lack expertise and credibility. Google rewards high-quality content, even if it's AI-generated. The content should demonstrate freshness, credibility, and reflect the E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness).

In the context of Parasite SEO, this means that while AI should be used for automating content creation, it should balance with human insights, evoking critical thinking. Also, the AI tools should be fed with the relevant data, such as user intent, keywords, and user personas.

Lastly, Google tends to trust human-centric content more in certain industries, such as healthcare, law, and finance. Thus, your content must reflect a higher degree of expertise to gain the search engine’s trust.

How AI helps with Parasite SEO?

Automated workflows are at the heart of your scalable SEO and content strategy. Using workflow builders like n8n and Make.com helps automate the Parasite SEO strategy—keyword research, content creation, content publication, and even performance reporting.

For instance, this basic content creation workflow on Reddit includes steps such as researching secondary, long-tail, and LSI keywords, followed by metadata generation (including meta title, meta description, and title).

Another key step in the workflow includes finding the user intent and creating content that relates to the user intent. More advanced workflow creation may include content optimization, content publishing, and promotion setup.

n8n offers integration with over 400 apps, including keyword research tools, content creation tools, and distribution and monitoring tools. A single workflow, with the triggers, scenarios, and actions, allows you to auto-publish content, schedule posts, and promote them across various channels.

Similarly, Make.com is another amazing automation workflow builder for setting up your Parasite AI SEO. Nick Saraev, an AI coach, shares a video discussing the use of AI for scraping Medium blog posts, rewriting them, and publishing on Medium. Nick demonstrates the process to utilize webhooks and triggers to scrape blogs and generate content using ChatGPT. Make.com integrates with more than 2,500 apps for smoother automation in every aspect of marketing.

Benefits of Using AI for Parasite SEO

The widespread adoption of generative AI tools has opened various opportunities for the SEO industry. The State of SEO report by Conductor reveals that over 83% of marketers believe AI will have a positive impact on their SEO efforts.

Here are the benefits of using AI for Parasite SEO:

  • Improved efficiency: AI tools significantly reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks, such as content generation, keyword analysis, and optimization. Thus, marketers can focus on strategic planning rather than scratching their heads over manual tasks.
  • Scalability: Companies using AI automation experience productivity gains of 20–25%, with potential improvements up to 40% over the next decade, as per Superhuman report.  That said, Automated workflows allow businesses to work on multiple campaigns simultaneously, leading to scalability.
  • Enhanced targeting and personalization: AI’s ability to analyze user behavior and search patterns allows marketers to create highly targeted, personalized content. This leads to better audience engagement and a higher likelihood of ranking.
  • Cost-efficiency: AI reduces the need for large teams of SEO specialists, making Parasite SEO more cost-effective. This cost-saving potential, coupled with increased productivity, positions AI-driven Parasite SEO as an efficient and budget-friendly approach.

How to use AI for ranking your Parasite SEO content?

Parasite content doesn’t demand much. All you need is to perform an intent-driven keyword search and create high-quality content. The high domain authority will do wonders ahead.

But, here’s the catch: Optimizing it for the Google search engine won’t guarantee you the anticipated traffic. Over the past few months, LLMs have accounted for a significant portion of traffic.

A study by SEMRush indicates that AI search traffic is expected to surpass traditional search traffic by 2028. Moreover, a website visitor from ChatGPT is 4.4 times more likely to convert than a search engine visitor.

Thus, using Parasite AI SEO tactics can help you not just with search engine rankings but also with LLM ranking. Below, I’ve explained the exact process you can adopt for ranking Parasite content using AI tools and workflows.

Identify High-Authority Platforms for Parasite SEO

Identifying a high-authority platform with a neat and clean SEO will help boost your parasite content faster. These platforms are sites with established domain authority, trustworthiness, and high user engagement.

For instance, news websites such as Forbes Marketplace and Outlook India have previously published Parasite content on a large scale. However, due to the number of low-quality contents, these websites are at a higher risk of algorithmic penalties.

I’d recommend using social media platforms like LinkedIn, Reddit, Quora, and Medium for the same purpose. Lately, Reddit has gained a massive buzz among the SEO community because of its licensing deal with Google, leading to a significant gain in rankings for the platform.

Additionally, a video platform like YouTube can boost your visibility by displaying the video content for a specific keyword, preferably at the top of the SERPs. According to AIOSEO, video content is 50 times more likely to gain the top results of Google's first page rankings than plain text.

A great case study example of Jesper Nissen shows how he strategically ranked for a variation of keywords on different platforms. Using the long-tail keyword as primary, Jesper created a YouTube video, inserting the keyword into the title, description, and hashtags.

Next, the video was shared on Reddit with the main keyword as the title and expanding the topic in a small thread. Lastly, he shared the Reddit link on Twitter to index it faster. Thus, YouTube, in tandem with other social media platforms, can help you index faster and acquire the top of the SERPs.

Leverage AI Tools for Content Creation

When you’re creating content at scale, consider using ChatGPT and other AI tools for the same. Jot down a few prompts or ask ChatGPT to give you the best prompts for writing your content.

At Revv Growth, we’ve designed an automated content workflow covering every aspect of SEO-driven content—keyword research, outline creation, content creation, editing, and publishing.

We’ve seen this hands-on experience with our client Everstage. Everstage, a top sales compensation software, wanted to scale its content without hurting the quality. Our content workflow helped them automate their content production on autopilot.

Using AI prompts, we built a comprehensive content workflow for Everstage, led by our expert in-house content team. After adding a layer of iterations and personalization, we helped Everstage create content that targets their ICPs.

Our content engine also includes prompts for content optimization, adding FAQs, metadata, and even image optimization–so that everything is automated. By using our pre-made prompts, we can generate quick FAQs and answers or get metadata suggestions all within a second.

Optimize your content using AI tools

Content creation isn’t the end. You also need to ensure that your content satisfies the user intent and is optimized for the search engines.

According to SurveyMonkey, 51% marketers use AI tools to optimize content, from email campaigns to search engine optimization.

Here’s what the content optimization involves:

  • Adding metadata: Updating meta title, meta description and blog title with an [year] tag.
  • Finding the content gaps: Analyzing the top-ranking pages for the primary keyword for finding the content gap. Jot down the sections from their outline that you haven’t added.
  • Skim the content structure: Breaking down the large block of text into smaller paragraphs. Use bullet points to highlight benefits, procedures and listicle items.
  • Identifying the AI overview opportunities: Use the latest stats and trends to add freshness to the content. Also, answer the questions directly to win the AI overview opportunity.
  • Adding depth to the surface-level content: Adding insights, stats and expert quotes to the existing surface-level content. This helps boost credibility and authority

At RevvGrowth, we use these techniques to create a content optimization checklist for our clients. For each of these tasks, we’ve created custom prompts that are trained on similar machine learning techniques.

  • Adding first paragraph: Simple first paragraph can win you featured snippets. That’s why, we consider skimming the first paragraph of the content in 50-70 words. Using this approach has helped our clients win snippets and appear in various LLM search engines.
  •  FAQ optimization: Adding FAQs to your content can enhance the user experience, helping with featured snippets and PAA optimization.
  • Image optimization:  Images engage readers as a scroll breaker. Our custom GPT prompt is crafted in a way that produces high-quality images with relevant text and visuals. Next, we add image description and alt text in the image. Adding alt text helps search engines understand the context of images, improving search results and website visibility.
  • Adding content gap: We detect the content gaps by analyzing the SERPs and top pages. This helps improve chances of appearing for various queries using a single piece of content.
  • Product plug: To help boost leads through content, we consider adding or mentioning the products contextually. Thus, readers can quickly navigate to the product after a relevant section.

Publish and Promote Content Strategically

Strategic publishing and promotion is where many SEO strategies falter, but AI can play a pivotal role. The first step in leveraging Parasite AI SEO is to identify relevant, high-authority websites where you can publish your content.

These websites have a large audience, substantial domain authority (DA), and receive high traffic. Start by using Google search operators to find websites that accept guest posts or submissions. Examples of useful search queries include:

  • “[Your Niche] + ‘write for us’”
  • “[Your Niche] + ‘guest post’”
  • “[Your Niche] + ‘submit an article’”
  • “[Your Niche] + ‘contribute’"

These strings will lead you to websites with dedicated guest post or submission pages.

Another effective way to discover suitable platforms is to analyze your competitors' backlinks using tools like SEMRush or Ahrefs. By evaluating their backlink profiles, you can identify authoritative sites they are linking to, which could be valuable targets for your content. Aim for platforms with a Domain Rating (DR) higher than 90 to ensure you’re publishing on highly trusted websites.

You can create a report and add the keyword along with the URL of the news websites to track these metrics.

Simply, head to Ahrefs and drop your URL in Ahrefs backlink checker. Click on Backlinks→ sort them in order of high DR.

Since most news sites and social platforms have DR > 90, you’ll find the linking pages at the top.

Once you find these websites, reach out to the editorial team or fill a contributor form with a topic. For example, The Diplomat has a ‘write for us’ page outlining the blog guidelines along with the form fields. You can also pitch the topic to the advertising team to publish your content right away.

Once you’ve identified the right platforms, you need to create an account on those websites.

For guest blogging opportunities, ensure that you follow each website's submission guidelines carefully. These guidelines typically outline:

  • Word count requirements
  • Content structure (headings, bullet points, use of media)
  • SEO practices (keyword optimization, use of internal/external links)
  • Formatting rules

Following these guidelines is crucial for having your content accepted. Many websites also require a pitch before submission. When pitching your idea, ensure that your proposed content aligns with their audience’s interests and the topics they typically publish.

Once your pitch is approved, it’s time to craft high-quality content. Tailor your article to the specific platform and follow their optimization guidelines.  Some platforms may require a specific format (e.g., Google Docs, Word documents, or direct submission through their content management system).

Similarly, other parasite websites such as Medium, Reddit, and LinkedIn lets you publish the articles by simply creating an account.

Here’s how you can get started with these Parasite websites:

  • Medium: Create a profile, then start publishing articles relevant to your niche.
  • LinkedIn: Post articles directly through LinkedIn’s publishing platform.
  • Reddit: Publish content in the relevant subreddits.

These platforms allow you to leverage their massive audiences and high domain authority for your SEO benefit.

Once your content is published on the parasite website, it’s time to amplify it through promotion. You can promote your published content in the following ways:

  • Social Media Platforms: Share your article on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms. Use niche-specific hashtags to increase visibility.
  • Groups and Communities: Share your article in relevant online communities and forums, such as Reddit, Quora, or Facebook Groups.
  • Email Newsletters: If you have an email list, include your new published piece in your next newsletter to drive traffic.

Lastly, consider republishing the content on other parasite websites. For instance, take an article you wrote for Medium and republish it on LinkedIn or Reddit. This increases the article’s reach and brings in more SEO juice.

Cross-posting can also help you reach different audiences. You can take excerpts from your original article and post them with links to the full version on your website.
